Fear not, they are just moving a few blocks away on Sarah. We decided it was time to go to Juniper before they move in July. Would I come back here? Yes, it's a nice change and I want to try the chicken fried mushrooms. You could tell it was homemade and we both wanted to lick the plate. We weren't going to get dessert, but all the employees were raving about the banana cream pie that had been made that day. I had enough ham left over for breakfast the next day. My ham plate was huge and came with pita bread. Next up was the chilled sweet corn soup for him, and the southern country ham plate for me. On the menu it said, "bbq onion, shallots - OR - spicy buttermilk, dill Korean chile." I actually thought that since it said "or" you chose which ones you wanted. Did that mean three whole eggs or three halves. The menu was a little confusing with the deviled eggs. We started with the deviled eggs as usual. I had the Canary in a Coal Mine while we looked over the menu. I didn't walk around that much since we grabbed seats at the bar but I do know that they have a private event space here also. If they don't, with the other restaurants around here, parking will be a nightmare. I asked our bartender if she knew if Juniper was going to have parking in a garage or lot, but she did not know. I'm not sure what the parking situation is going to be when the apartments are finished. We had to try Juniper's new location on Laclede Avenue. You don't have to like masks but if you're demanding service, you gotta be prepared to follow their rules. Moral of the story: Good for Juniper for sticking to their policies.
Guy blows up, grabs his two mulleted children, storms out telling the manager some creative things he can go do to himself. He just walked a whole THREE BLOCKS to come to this restaurant and it's COLD and they're NOT walking back without a meal. Guy says that he's not putting on a mask. Manager is pleasant, says to the guy: "What can I help you with?" The gentleman says he's not going to do that. The host replies that he would love to put him at a table but that this good gentleman and his tiny gentlepeople would need to put on masks.
He says to the host that he would like a table. Not a coat in sight in ~30 degree weather. The highlight of my evening, by far, though:Ī guy comes in with his two kids. It's tangy, tasty, crispy, WONDERFUL.Ĭocktails are creative and great! We tried the Apple Tobacco Old Fashioned and we weren't sure what to expect? But it was just the right amount of smoky and perfectly Fall-flavored while keeping traditional Old Fashioned taste. I got the Carolina BBQ chicken sandwich and you absolutely can't go wrong with it. I highly recommend a reservation so you can make sure you get a table - although we've sat at the bar before for late-night drinks and still had a great time.īacon fat cornbread was out of this world delicious.
